Azim Premji Foundation sells Wipro shares worth Rs11.75 cr
Mumbai: Azim Premji Foundation — founded by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji — has sold three lakh equity shares of the IT firm for Rs11.75 crore in the open market.
Azim Premji Foundation sold 62,000 equity shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), while the rest 2.38 lakh it sold on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Wipro Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.
Azim Premji Foundation aims at making a tangible impact on key social issues by working in active partnership with the government and other relevant sections of the society.
The three lakh equity shares, sold by the foundation, represent 0.02% of the total stake of the IT firm Wipro, it said.
Azim Premji Foundation sold the shares in open market transaction on 5 June, it said.
Shares of Wipro closed at Rs432.70, up 2.11% from the previous close on the BSE.
