Search Camp 2007—a two-day event aimed at bringing together the best minds from the search engine marketing space—kicked off on 6 October.
The exhibition hall at Tidel Park was packed half-an-hour before the event began. The show—managed by the Knowledge Foundation, which has organized events such as Blog Camp and Proto.in—attracted participants from Delhi, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagaland as well as from Taiwan and Dubai.
Kiruba Shankar, CEO, Business Blogging Pvt. Ltd, opened the session with a welcome speech.
The first day featured a presentation on Measuring Success of a SEO Campaign by Prabuddha S. Raychaudhuri, SEO (search engine optimization) guru, which kept the morning momentum rolling with points like tracking campaigns by having different phone numbers for each campaign.
George Tai of Obamboo Inc., who travelled from Taiwan, spoke on Recent Developments in Keyword Marketing and presented ideas on how the Taiwanese market looked at Google and SEO concepts.
Venture capitalist Mahesh Murthy spoke on The Future of Search Engine Marketing—eight predictions for 2008. The topic raised many questions, especially around concepts such as cost-per-acquisition and pay-per- organic-click.
