Mumbai:National Aluminium Co. Ltd (Nalco), India’s second largest producer of the metal, said global demand will rise 5% this year. Prices on the London Metal Exchange may be between $2,100 (Rs97,440) and $2,200 a tonne this year, A.K. Sharma, director of production, said in an interview.
Aluminium market to be in surplus: Vedanta
Melbourne: Vedanta Aluminium Ltd, a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Plc, said global market for the metal will be in surplus this year. Aluminium consumption in India may grow 8% in 2010, and by 15% in China—the biggest producer and consumer of the metal—executive director Pankaj Khanna said.
