GAIL (7.85% up)
Shares of GAIL (India) Ltd surged 7.85% after the petroleum secretary said that firms such as ONGC and GAIL won’t bear LPG and Kerosene subsidy burden.
ONGC (7.02% up)
The ONGC shares gained 7.02% after clarification from petroleum secretary. ONGC told CNBC-TV18 it expects FY10 subsidy burden to be substantially lower.
Jagran Prakashan (3.46% down)
The Jagran Prakashan Ltd scrip lost 3.46% after CNBC-TV18 reported that Independent News & Media Investments is looking to exit the company.
Maytas Infra (4.95% up)
Shares of Maytas Infra Ltd gained 4.95% on reports that banks have approved the firm’s CDR proposal. Maytas will repay debt over 10 years and pay 8-9% interest.
GMDC (9.98% up)
GMDC Ltd shares rose 9.98% on talk of disinvestment, government holds 74% stake in the company. The talks have been going for the last 4-5 years.
ITI (4.91% up)
ITI Ltd shares closed up 4.91% after the firm told CNBC-TV18 they are in process of identifying consultant for a JV and have not yet been approached by any investors.
SpiceJet (2.88% up)
SpiceJet Ltd shares rose 2.88% after the company told CNBC-TV18 that consolidation is good for the industry. The firm won’t comment on speculation of buying other LCC.
Tata Steel (6.37% up)
Shares of Tata Steel Ltd gained 6.37% on the BSE at Thursday close, after reports that the company has plans to raise $600 million via share sale.
