New Delhi: Gold futures strengthened by 0.24% in early trade on the Multi Commodity Exchange on Wednesday on increased buying in the spot market for the marriage season.
At 1115 hrs, the gold for the most-active June contract added 0.24% to Rs14,417 per ten gram in a trading volume of 87 lots. It had gained 0.28% yesterday.
The precious metal for the far-month August contract also traded higher by the same margin at Rs14,414 per ten gram with a trading volume of 1,542 lots.
Traders said increased buying in the spot markets for the current marriage season, mainly boosted trading sentiment in futures trade.
