IIFCL extends bond issue to 18 March: bankers
Mumbai:India Infrastructure Finance Co. Ltd (IIFCL) has extended the deadline for its Rs2,670 crore bond issue to 18 March as it has raised only about Rs1,700-1,800 crore so far, three bankers to the issue said on Friday.
The issue was originally scheduled to close on Friday.
The infrastructure lender is selling 5-year bonds at 6.85%, the same terms as the issue in January.
As part of its stimulus packages, India has allowed IIFCL to raise Rs40,000 crore of tax-free bonds to finance projects worth Rs1 trillion in the country.
Of this Rs40,000 crore limit, one-fourth is to be raised before the end of the current fiscal year in March.
The money aimed to be raised through the current issue would complete this tranche. IIFCL had raised about Rs7,300 crore in January.
