Mumbai: The upward march in oil prices continued on the oils and oilseeds market here on 4 April. Groundnut oil firmed up further on sustained demand from retailers amidst poor supply.
Elsewhere, castorseeds bold and its oil both looked up further on persistent demand from shippers and soap industry.
In the edible section, groundnut oil advanced to Rs660 from Rs655 and refined plamolein also inched up to Rs453 from Rs452.
Turning to the industrial section, castoroil commercial moved up by Rs7 to Rs 465 and castorseeds bold by Rs35 to Rs2,175. Linseed oil, however, ruled steady at Rs480.
In the futures section, castorseeds June contract resumed slightly higher at Rs2,175 and rose further to Rs2,190. Later on, it ended at Rs2,171 as against Rs 2,174 on 3 April, showing a marginal loss of Rs3.
