Here's a look at some of his best-known movies. 1/9Rituparno Ghosh made his directional debut with Hirer Angti (The diamond ring) in 1992. The Bengali film starred Moon Moon Sen and Basanta Choudhury. Ghosh was born and brought up in Kolkata. Dahan was also nominated for the Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 1998. 4/9Ghosh’s 1999 film Bariwali was again among the National awards winning actress Kirron Kher the Best Actress award. Ghosh also won the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema Award during the Berlin International Film Festival in 2000 for the movie. 5/9Asukh, another Bengali movie made by Ghosh in 1999, won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.
