On Sunday, Saina Nehwal beat Japan’s Sayaka Sato in the Indonesian Open, capping a winning streak that has seen her win three major tournaments in June. It’s the best that Indian badminton has seen since Prakash Padukone’s wins in 1980. At No. 3 on the world rankings, Nehwal is the only non-Chinese in the top 5.
