On the subcontinent, where cricket is less sport and more religion, an India-Pakistan match is an especially fervent occasion. Not surprisingly, extra devotion is in order. That is all the more so for Wednesday’s semi-final between the two. The 2011 World Cup is one of the rare ones in which both sides have fared equally well, and are both strong contenders for the cup. That will change after Wednesday of course, but the first ever World Cup semi-final between the two traditional rivals promises to be a spectacle worthy even of the gods.
