The support rate for the Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe continues its downward spiral... A weekend survey by The Asahi Shimbun found that the Cabinet’s approval rating had fallen to 37% from the 63% logged when it took office last September. Meanwhile, the disapproval rating climbed to 40% from 18%.
All other recent media surveys have produced similar findings. Abe has responded by saying he will try to gain public trust by explaining his policies in plain...language and implement them accordingly. However the public is clearly disappointed...In the Asahi poll, for instance, only 21% of respondents expressed approval of Abe’s handling of the issue of growing social inequality in this nation...against 54% of those who voiced disapproval.
