By popular consensus, the age of treasure hunting ended a long time ago. With little left to explore (all islands where pirates could stash their stuff have been mapped to the last coordinate) the world, it seemed, had run out of treasure stories. As if to disprove this, a massive hoard has now been discovered in a temple in Thiruvananthapuram. As with much else in Kerala, political parties are debating what to do with this precious pile. The treasure is of great historical value and it is best if it is preserved in a museum or in the temple itself.
