In a fresh development in the WikiLeaks scandal, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has told Parliament no one from the UPA coalition paid money to MPs in return for votes. His statement came after hours of heated arguments in both houses. Opposition leader Sushma Swaraj led the charge against the Prime Minister and the UPA. She demanded the CBI take over the investigation and formal charges be made. The WikiLeaks controversy concerns an American diplomatic cable that suggests some MPs were bribed so they would support the UPA during a floor test in July 2008.
