The gender imbalance

Gender equality and women’s empowerment could mean profitability gains for India companies, Michelle Bachelet, executive director of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, said in a report, citing academic research.

Unfortunately, data suggests India so far has missed this opportunity. The country’s women still lag behind men in participating in economic activity and political decision-making even as the gender gap in health and education remains a concern.
