Shillong: Praising the Indian business model, British High Commissioner to India Richard Stagg has said it could help shape the world business environment in this time of global recession.
“The Indian business model can help shape the environment globally. The UK is keen to understand how it works and what drives it,” Stagg said here after an interaction with the faculty of Shillong IIM on Wednesday evening.
Stating that there was big interest among business schools in the UK to partner with those of India, he said such potential collaboration were being discussed.
“We may not be able to help the Indian business schools financially, but we can offer support in faculty through visits and partnerships. We can engage UK business schools to work with IIMs to have environment-friendly business practices, the British envoy said, adding Britain was keen to involve UK business schools in sustainable and ecological development.
Educational cooperation between UK business schools and IIM, Shillong, would benefit both the countries, the British diplomat said.
Stagg inaugurated Shillong IIMs Accelerated Learning Centre (ALC), the management school’s first online and campus programme in sustainable global enterprise and e-marketing.
