India’s exports up 19.26% despite rupee rise

New Delhi: India’s exports increased by 19.26% in September this year, despite a rise in rupee value, while imports went up by a moderate 2.31%.
However, in rupee terms, the export growth in September was 4.31% while imports declined by 10.51%.
Exports improved to $12.79 billion and imports to $17.21 billion in September, according to official data released here on 1 November.
Trade deficit declined to $4.42 billion in September from $6.09 billion in the year-ago period on the back of sharp drop in imports.
