August was the month India, rather Indian influencers, fell off the world map. As a group, the 20 influencers were cited 48% less in August in global media than they were the previous month. And only four of the 20 ended up being cited more by global media in August than in July. Of the four, the one influencer who showed an increase on a significant base was Tata Sons Ltd and Tata Motors Ltd chairman Ratan Tata. Tata, who also saw a significant increase in his citings in Indian media (312% actually, and, again, on a significant base) has the crisis in Singur to thank for this.
