Wellington: A powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Fiji Saturday but there was no threat of a tsunami, US seismologists said.
The offshore quake hit at 9:28 am (2128 GMT Saturday) and was centered around 100 km (62 miles) northeast of Ndoi Island, Fiji, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said on its website. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat.
