Tatas-led Neotel hires Siemens for South Africa network

Johannesberg: Neotel Ltd, a group led by Tata Sons Ltd, appointed Siemens Telecommunications Ltd to help build South Africa’s second fixed-line telephone network.
Siemens will use Juniper Networks Inc’s technology, Neotel said in an e-mailed statement distributed on 28 February. Neotel will use the products and services of Huawei Technologies Co.
Neotel also entered into similar technology partnership arrangements with Motorola Inc and Cisco Systems Inc earlier. Neotel did not provide financial details.
