Education | Drop in salaries for IIM Kozhikode graduates
New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, said on Monday that its class of 2009 averaged an annual salary of Rs10.61 lakh, a 28% drop from Rs14.83 lakh last year, during the on-campus placement season. The average salary offer on campus had risen 16% last year.
The school, which placed a batch of 185 students in jobs, said students continued to prefer finance jobs despite the global recession, with 37% of the batch opting for the sector. “The talk of recession was drowned down by the frenzy with which students were lapped up by the banks," it said in a press release.
