If you had three wishes?
S Gopalakrishnan, chief executive officer, Infosys Technologies Ltd
• Increased focus and investment in infrastructure: The government must give priority to transportation and energy in its infrastructure development plan. Investment in social infrastructure such as education and healthcare is also imperative for growth. The government should also look at public-private partnerships to fuel infrastructure growth.
• Stimulus for economic growth and job creation: One of the biggest challenges is to achieve inclusive growth amid a global economic crisis. There should be equal focus on the informal sector to ensure a level playing field.
• Higher allocation to e-governance projects: This will improve citizen services and streamline the government. It will also stimulate the domestic information technology industry.
If you could end something?
I would like to simplify lots of procedures such that the speed of governance improves. This may mean eliminating some archaic laws. Labour laws also require an overhaul.

If you were the FM, what would be the one thing outside your industry you would want?
Open up investment in education. The government must join hands with the private sector to understand how the current education system can be honed to make graduates more industry-ready.
What is your idea of inclusive growth?
My idea of inclusive growth is where we address the income and digital divide through government policies and investments while creating incentives for businesses.
