A survey by the Centre for Media Studies (CMS) found that the percentage of rural households that feel that corruption in education services at the school level is increasing has halved to 35% since 2005.
According to the CMS India Corruption Survey 2010, around 15% of rural households paid a bribe to avail of school services, of which one-third was to gain admission.
