Omar gives more cash, no jobs

Srinagar: nable to provide jobs to the kin of civilians killed in militancy related violence, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday allocated additional Rs20 crore to increase the financial compensation to the bereaved relatives.
The amount was sanctioned by chief minister Omar Abdullah for the current year. The unspent Rs11.45 crore of last year’s fund was also revalidated for this year, an official release said.
Earlier, the state government used to pay a cash compensation of Rs100,000 and a government job on compassionate grounds to the kins of such victims.
