BackAAP’s next Delhi Dialogue on women’s issues
The event aims to touch upon security, equality and empowerment of women

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will focus on women’s issues at the next instalment of its Delhi Dialogues series on 26 November, which is also the party’s foundation day.
The series of open discussions called Delhi Dialogues is aimed at crafting a campaign blueprint for the party, ahead of the Delhi assembly polls.
The event aims to touch upon security, equality and empowerment of women. Some of the AAP ideas include installation of CCTV cameras, better public transport, improving the last-mile connectivity and public toilets.
Senior AAP leader Ashish Khetan, who is closely associated with the initiative, said that many public places, slums and unauthorized colonies in Delhi did not access to toilets. The party also wants to focus on the empowerment of women by improving their working conditions and setting up wage boards, Khetan said.
Party officials feel encouraged by the response from the first Delhi Dialogue event which focused on youth.
“Delhi Dialogue will now proceed in a phased manner. The lead team will continue its deliberations with various sections of the society to highlight the issues concerning their lives, so that these can form an important part of the AAP Delhi manifesto. At the same time, the research team for the Dialogue programme will keep compiling feedback from the people on each respective initiative," said a statement released by the party after the first phase of the dialogue.
