Former PM Manmohan Singh released the Congress Party's manifesto for assembly elections in Punjab; voting will take place on 4 February
New Delhi: The Congress party on Monday released its election manifesto for assembly elections in Punjab, promising sops for all sections. The manifesto was released by former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh along with the party’s chief ministerial candidate Captain Amarinder Singh.
The former PM said that Punjab has immense potential for growth but has suffered due to mismanagement at the hands of Shiromani Akali Dal- Bharatiya Janata Party (SAD-BJP) alliance government.
He also said that demonetisation will be an issue in all five states going to polls. The party promised a stipend of Rs2,500 for unemployed youth.
