Nashik: Polling began in Dindori and Nashik parliamentary constituencies this morning amid tight security arrangements.
An Independent candidate from Dindori Lok Sabha seat passed away yesterday, official sources said today.
Maharashtra deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal’s nephew Sameer Bhujbal is contesting from the Nashik constituency.
With the soaring temperature in Nashik as well as in Dindori large numbers of voters turned up at the polling booths before the poll commenced at 7 am.
In many localities in Nashik city — Gangapur road, College road, Mahatma Nagar the voters were finding hardship to locate their names in the voter’s list as the political parties failed to distribute voting slips to electorates, Uralikandan Ravi told PTI.
Voters have asked not to carry mobiles within the 100 metre range from the polling booths, while the candidates has been allowed to use only three vehicles on the polling day, an election officer said.
