New Delhi: The government today said it has approved projects worth Rs 186.48 crore under Rajasthan’s Annual Plan for 2007-08 of State Public Works Departments.
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, minister of state for shipping, road transport and highways K H Muniyappa said: “As regards the proposals received under the approved Annual Plan for the year 2007-08, works amounting to Rs186.48 crore had been sanctioned.”
The proposals received from the state government under the approved Annual Plan are being examined and sanctioned during the financial year, he added.
Muniyappa also said the state government had submitted its views regarding the uniform tax structure on motor vehicles.
The state governments, in January this year, were requested to provide detailed information relating to National Permit and also to submit their views for rationalisation of motor vehicle taxes, he added.
This was done in view to streamline the National Permit system across the country, he said, adding that a committee, under the chairmanship of Road, Transport and Highways secretary, had been constituted on January 21, 2009, to look into the issues relating to the matter.
