39 IAS, 7 IPS accused of corruption: Government

8 IFoS officers were also granted prosecution sanctions along with 2,220 corruption cases filed by the CBI, in the last three years

New Delhi: As many as 39 IAS and seven IPS officers have been allegedly found involved in corruption in the last three years, the government said on Wednesday.

During the last three years prosecution sanctions were granted against 39 IAS, seven IPS and eight Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officers, minister of state for personnel, public grievances and pensions Jitendra Singh told Lok Sabha in a written reply.

“Penalties including dismissal from service have been provided in case corruption charges are proven," he said.

In reply to another question, Singh said 2,220 corruption cases have been filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during last three years.
