Cabinet to review execution of IFRS in a fortnight: Deora

Mumbai: The union cabinet will review the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) in a fortnight, Murli Deora, cabinet minister for corporate affairs said on the sidelines of an Indian Merchant Chambers conference in Mumbai.
According to Deora, who sworn in as the minister five days ago, the ministry is looking at introducing the Companies Bill, that is pending with the Law Ministry, in the upcoming budget session. "We will arrive at a bill that is agreeable by all," Deora said. According to him, the draft will undergo changes such as that defining the role of an independent director in a company before it is introduced to the house.
