Air India Express will undergo a safety check. We’ve learnt that on Thursday, aviation regulator DGCA decided to carry out a safety audit of the airline. The regulator will deploy a five-member team to carry out the audit. They’ll have four weeks to turn in their findings.
The DGCA carried out 14 audits between 2007 and 2009 and the decision to carry one out on Air India Express comes less than a month after one of the airline’s planes crashed in Magalore killing 158 people.
Job growth is estimated to have doubled. A new study from HR firm Ma Foi predicts there 347,463 new jobs are being added in India in April-June quarter. In the previous January to March quarter the figure was just 153,564. The survey covered 650 companies in 13 sectors.
After accelerating for two weeks, food inflation has finally moderated. The food price index rose 16.12 the period to 5 June. That’s lower than the previous week’s increase of 16.74%.
