Mumbai: Indian bank loans rose 10.8% on year as of 9 October, the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.
Deposits were up 20.0% from a year earlier.
Outstanding loans rose by Rs171.61 billion ($3.7 billion) to Rs28.90 trillion in the two weeks to 9 October.
Non-food credit rose by Rs168.58 billion to Rs28.48 trillion in the two weeks, while food credit rose by Rs3.03 billion to Rs427.21 billion in the same period.
Bank deposits rose by Rs413.48 billion to Rs41.61 trillion in the two weeks to 9 October, the WSS showed.
