Mumbai: Maharashtra and Gujarat would sign an agreement on 16 February, as a result of which Mumbai would get additional water supply.
Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi would sign the pact in Delhi in presence of Union Water Resource Minister Saifuddin Soz, an official release said.
Survey work on Par-Tapi-Narmada and Damanganga-Pinjal river projects in the two states would be undertaken after the agreement is signed, the release said.
The Damanganga-Pinjal project would help stop additional water going to Gujarat from Khargi Hill and Bhugad dams and result in Mumbai getting more water after, the release said.
