India gets Rs2.47 trillion in direct taxes till Jan

New Delhi: India collected Rs2.47 trillion from taxes on companies and individuals in the first 10 months of the financial year 2008-09 that began 1 April, minister of state for finance S.S. Palanimanickam said.
The finance ministry had on 16 February revised the total direct-tax collection target for the fiscal year to Rs3.45 trillion from the previous aim of Rs3.65 trillion, he said.
