The philanthropic spirit
The philanthropic spirit
The series reflected a wide cross-section of views on philanthropy, with contributions from people closely engaged with the field, introducing fresh ideas about how to raise resources, how best to deploy them and the critical areas that need attention. Pierre Omidyar wrote about how India’s most talented entrepreneurs are applying their minds to solutions and making them work. Azim Premji wrote about social issues and making a meaningful contribution. Sonia Gandhi exhorted industrialists and businessmen to share the responsibility for social uplift. Sadhguru said spiritual movements can play a large role in addressing disparity in a manner that is humane and acceptable to all. Here we present a selection of the views that were expressed in the Mint philanthropy series.
