The Group of 20 (G-20) summit convenes in Toronto, Canada, on 26-27 June. The summit will focus on recovery from the global economic and financial crisis and the implementation of commitments from previous G-20 summits, while laying the foundation for sustainable and balanced growth.

G-20 was established in 1999 as a response to the financial crises of the late 1990s and to a growing recognition that key emerging markets were not adequately included in the core of global economic discussion and governance. The group is made up of the finance ministers and central bank governors of 19 countries and the European Union (EU).
