India-EU investment pattern
The 27-member European Union (EU) is India’s largest trading as well as investment partner. EU investment flows into India more than doubled to €5.4 billion in 2007 from €2.5 billion in 2006.

It declined last year to €852 million as European economies battled financial turmoil. Germany was the biggest contributor of foreign direct investment in India, accounting for 20% of the EU total during 2004-07, according to data from Eurostat, the European statistical office. It wasn’t a one-way street. Last year, Indian investments in the EU soared to €2.4 billion, from zero in 2004.
