Narendra Modi says Vajpayee government created 65 million jobs compared with 15 million during the UPA government's 10-year tenure

Claim: The Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government created 65 million jobs between 1998 and 2004. In the last 10 years of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government’s tenure, only 15 million jobs were created.

Check: He is mostly right.

A Mint article published on 4 April, citing National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) data, says that while the UPA government managed to create only 15 million job between 2004 and 2012, the NDA government created 60 million jobs during its tenure.
