Mulayam hits out at BJP over Amit Shah
SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav targeted the BJP for making Amit Shah its UP in-charge
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for making Amit Shah its UP incharge and said it was “unfortunate" that people like him were into politics.
“It’s unfortunate that a person like Amit Shah is into politics...Who is he? Look at his history...He was home minister (in Gujarat) when the riots took place..", Yadav said.
“Ye naash kar denge...(They will ruin... (democracy))," Yadav added.
“Uttar Pradesh is the land of Ram, Krisha, Atalji... BJP should also think... they have made such a person their UP in-charge", he said.
The BJP general secretary had triggered a controversy with his remarks that the ongoing general elections, especially in western UP, was “an election for honour. It is an election to take revenge for the insult. It is an election to teach a lesson to those who have committed injustice."
Two FIRs have been lodged against Shah on 6 April in Uttar Pradesh while the Election Commission served him a notice on Monday seeking his explanation for the remarks be tendered by 5 pm on 9 April.
