New Delhi: A day after the Union cabinet cleared the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill 2011, activist Anna Hazare on Friday criticized the changes made in the proposed law to keep the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) out of the purview of the anti-corruption ombudsman.

“Now they are saying that CBI will not be included, this government has been lying again and again," Hazare, who was joined by former army chief V.K. Singh at a media briefing, said.

Hazare said he would be travelling across the country for the next one-and-a-half years to create awareness about the proposed anti-graft ombudsman.

“If there is a need be I will sit at Ramlila Maidan when the general election get declared," he said, while not ruling out the possibility of going on a hunger strike again.

Hazare, who has split with former aide Arvind Kejriwal, said that he would not support any political party, including Kejriwal’s recently launched Aam Aadmi Party, in elections.
