Samajwadi Party’s support to the UPA government on the Indo-US nuclear deal was the subject of a verbal duel between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
The BJP says the government is on the brink of collapse as the Left parties look all set to withdraw support. It calls SP’s association with the UPA a “hide act” that conceals the real motives. The Congress dismisses such allegations and counters that the SP has been supporting the government from outside right from its formation. Calling the BJP an “opportunistic party”, Congress appears confident it has the numbers by its side to prove its strength on the floor of the house.
