Foreign Affairs | Vivek Kundra named Obama govt tech chief
Washington: President Barack Obama on Thursday put tech wizard Vivek Kundra in charge of how US government agencies use information technology in the new post of chief information officer.
Kundra, sought to use applications such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook in his previous role in Washington’s municipal government and was named as the 2008 IT Executive of the Year.
“Vivek Kundra will bring a depth of experience in the technology arena and a commitment to lowering the cost of government operations to this position," said Obama in a statement.
