Hasan Ali bail stayed till Thursday; black money application adjourned
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the operation of a Bombay high court order which would have released Pune businessman, Hasan Ali Khan on bail. The order has been stayed till Thursday. Khan is facing allegations of tax evasion and having deep links with international arms dealers.
He is one of the main accused in the black money probe spearheaded by the Enforcement Directorate, which is now being monitored by the Supreme Court through a special investigative team (SIT). The SC stayed the high court’s bail order on an application from the ED. The court will hear the case on Thursday.
Also on Tuesday, the SC adjourned the union government’s application to recall and modify the court’s order in the black money PIL, in which the court constituted the SIT. The court will hear this matter on 24 August.
