New Delhi: Adding to the post defeat turmoil, senior Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, leader Sushma Swaraj admitted the situation in her party after the Lok Sabha polls as “volcanic”.
The Vidhisha MP said there was nothing wrong in L K Advani continuing as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha as he would have become the Prime Minister if the National Demcratic Alliance had won the parliamentary elections. The leader also clarified it would be improper to project her as the heir to Advani’s position in the Parliament.
In another development, former BJP vice-president and Hazaribagh MP Yashwant Singh demanded the party order an enquiry into the leaking of his resignation letter to the media. Sinha, resigned from all posts in the party on Saturday.
Meanwhile, erstwhile party leader Uma Bharti has called on BJP’s parental organization RSS “to take over the full control of the party”.
On Saturday, BJP chief Rajnath Singh asked party leaders to avoid talking to the media about the internal affairs of the organization.
