New Delhi: The Congress party on Thursday named President Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmishta Mukherjee as a candidate in the upcoming Delhi state polls from Greater Kailash assembly seat in its third list.
Following her father’s path, Sharmishta Mukherjee, an acclaimed dancer, joined the Congress last year and is set to contest her first-ever election. Pranab Mukherjee was union finance minister under Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
On Thursday, Congress released its third list of 15 candidates including Vir Singh Dhingan from Seemapuri, Jagdish Yadav from Rithala and Brahm Yadav from Rajinder Nagar assembly seat.
