Coimbatore: Senior diplomats from India and China will sit face-to-face and discuss contentious border issues between the two countries.
According to district administration sources, the diplomats are expected to fly in from Delhi by helicopter on the evening of 21April to Coonoor, in the Nilgiris district.
Though there was no specific information about the time and date of the talks between the special representatives of these countries, one round of talks was likely to be held either on 21st night or 22nd morning.
The Chinese delegation would be headed by its Vice-Minister, Dai Bingguo, while there was no information on who would be the Indian special representative.
The delegation would also visit the famous botanical gardens in Udhagamandalam (Ooty), about 17 km from Coonoor.
Meanwhile, strict instructions were sent to the Nilgiris district and police officials not to allow print and electronic media at the venue. Even the state government photographers would not be allowed, the sources said, adding that security would be tightened in and around the hotel from tomorrow.
