New Delhi: The Central Vigilance Commission, investigating the multi-crore Commonwealth Games scam, has submitted its annual report to President Pratibha Patil, which will be tabled in Parliament.

Officials said that the report carried details of probe undertaken by the anti-corruption watchdog between January and December 2010.

“The report has been given to the president late in June and it will be tabled in the Parliament," a CVC official said.

However, the official, did not divulge details on the content of the report saying it will be a “breach of Parliament".

The report was given to the president on 30 June 2011 by its two vigilance commissioners , R Srikumar and J M Garg , as newly selected Central Vigilance commissioner Pradeep Kumar has not yet joined the office.

According to the CVC Act 2003, “It shall be the duty of the Commission to present annually to the president a report as to the work done by the Commission within six months of the close of the year under report."

“On receipt of such report, the president shall cause the same to be laid before each House of Parliament," the Act said.

The probity watchdog has been busy with investigations into high-profile cases of corruption in the conduct of the mega sporting event held in the Indian capital between 3-14 October 2010.

It has referred a number of cases to investigate criminal conspiracy and corruption to CBI against officials of Central and Delhi Government run civic and construction agencies.

CVC acts as country’s top body to advise Government of India on anti-corruption and takes necessary action to check graft.
