New Delhi: India could execute this year the sole Pakistani gunman captured alive during the November 2008 Mumbai attack if he does not appeal against his sentence, ‘CNN-IBN’ reported, citing home secretary G.K. Pillai.
Mohammed Ajmal Kasab was sentenced to death on 6 May after he was found guilty of waging war and multiple murders during the attacks that killed 166. Kasab has the right to appeal in higher courts and file a mercy petition with the President.
