Ila Patnaik named principal economic adviser in finance ministry
Patnaik, who is currently RBI chair professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, replaces Dipak Dasgupta
New Delhi: Noted economist Ila Patnaik has been appointed principal economic adviser in the finance ministry.
“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared her name," a senior finance ministry official said. Patnaik, who is currently Reserve Bank of India (RBI) chair professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, replaces Dipak Dasgupta. She has done a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Surrey in the UK. PTI
