Swan points to Tata, Datacom drafts, denies conspiracy
New Delhi: Swan Telecom on Friday sought discharge in the 2G spectrum allocation scam by claiming that it could not be made a co-conspirator with former telecom minister A Raja as besides it, many firms, including Tata Teleservices and Datacom, were also ready with demand drafts of Rs 1,659 crore to get licences. Swan Telecom wants former Trai chief to be named a co-conspirator
New Delhi: Swan Telecom, which has been accused of involvement in the 2G spectrum scam, told the trial court on Thursday that the former Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) chairman should be treated as a co-conspirator in the 2G case. Without naming him, Swan’s counsel said the Trai chairman had recommended the 2001 pricing for 2007. Nripendra Misra was the Trai chairman between March 2006 and 2009. (read story)
