BSNL board to meet Monday on GSM tender

New Delhi: The board of state-owned telecoms firm Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) will meet on Monday (16 July) to review a multi-billion dollar tender for GSM lines that had been awarded to European majors Nokia and Ericsson, a senior BSNL official said on Friday 13 July.
S.D. Saxena, director of finance at BSNL, said the board would consider various options, including continuing with the existing tender, limiting it to 2G lines, or issuing a fresh tender.
